Greetings!
According
to Punxsutawney Phil who saw his shadow, we will
have six more weeks of winter. Even so, now is
the time to get ready for spring. Make plans for
your gardens and start seeds indoors. Something
to look forward to this year at Simonds - we will
be carrying an easy-to-use type of compost bin,
something new for us, but something we all should
be doing. Looking forward to seeing everyone,
shovels in hand!

"Garden
to Do"
February
- Late
this month is the perfect time to start
sowing your seeds indoors. Be sure to
choose a nice warm, sunny location. You
can start seeds for your vegetable garden
or flower beds.
- Want
to get a head start on keeping the weeds
down in your garden? Start a regular application
of a pre-emergent. There is now an organic
pre-emergent on the market.
- This
is the best month to prune your fruit
trees, roses, and butterfly bushes.
- Pick
up a few gardening magazines for the latest
new trends for 2008.
- Fruit
trees are starting to arrive! Plant them
now so you can enjoy the blooms and the
fruit this year.
