May
- Be sure to protect any
tender annuals and vegetables if the temperature drops
below 35 degrees.
- Most of the summer annuals
are in stock at all garden centers. Get your color
now!
- Early blooming perennials
are now available.
- Azaleas and Rhododendrons
are starting to bloom. Wait until after they finish
blooming before pruning them.
- Custom container pots
available upon request. A few garden centers do offer
custom potting. Please make sure you allow enough time
to get them done.
- Keep ahead of the weeds.
Many weeds are going to start to go to seed, so remove
them before seeding occurs.
- Slugs are out and about
in full force - take action now before they start to
reproduce.
- This is a good time to
go through your garden and see what plants did not make
it through the winter. Most plants can safely be planted
now.
