The
Garden To Do
November

- Fertilize
your trees and shrubs NOW as they are
going into dormancy. This provides nutrition
for the root system during the winter.
- Cut
back any annuals, perennials and vegetables
that are finished growing for the season.
Remove all debris from the gardens to
keep the area clean and disease free.
- Plant
a "cover crop" in your vegetable
garden to help the soil from eroding during
the winter. Suggestions: Rye , oat or
wheat
- Combination
planters starting to look bad? Add fresh
texture by placing sprigs of evergreen
and holly in them or place a bow and ornaments
on them for extra color.
- Empty
all of your clay and ceramic pots. Store
them inside so they do not crack with
the freezing weather.
- Make
sure all of your tools are clean and well-oiled
for the winter so they do not get rusty.
Take care of them and they will take care
of you.
